"Hey, Mitch Here! Once a bartender, a customer told me that I should be on the radio, because he thought I could talk to a barrel of pickles. He owned a radio-station and gave my first job... and here I am 30 years later and still having fun. I am married and have two wonderful daughters. We love to travel and if we're not doing that, we enjoy golfing, gardening, hiking, camping and really anything outdoors. Thanks so much for letting me be part of your mornings!"

A "hometown boy", Glenn Eidson has been with Country Roads 93.3 WSDQ this time around since October 2022. Travis Hickman -- Swap & Shop 9-10am

Beginning in the radio business, in 1982, Travis, knew what it was like to start from the ground up. Being raised in a country-based home, music was always around. Since being raised in a remote country area, early morning rising was quite common, and the portable radio in the kitchen was always tuned in to WSM in Nashville, TN. He knew more words to the songs sung by the old country favorites like Bill Monroe, Charlie Louvin, Roy Acuff, Patsy Cline, Flatt and Scruggs and Hank Snow, than most adults during the same time era. Going into radio was like second nature for him from playing the latest hits, to old-timey country even the latest rock and roll. From working on our sister station WEPG beginning the early hours every morning with the Swap and Shop show, selling advertisement on the side and moving on up into the world of behind the stage jobs, Travis has done it all. His earliest claim to fame was the day he met Bill Monroe backstage at the Grand Ole Opry in October 1994. Never missing a beat, his stardom in music was born. Over the years, Travis, has met with many artists in a wide variety of music, from the Grand Ole Opry to Riverbend, even to the well known, Alabama June Jam, none escaped his attendance. In his accolades he has to his credit featured artists such as Loretta Lynn, Charlie Daniels, Brooks and Dunn, Taylor Swift, Randy Travis, Dolly Parton,Vince Gill, Trace Adkins, George Strait, Toby Keith and many, many more!

Kaitlyn Hickman.jpeg

Kaitlyn Hickman -- Swap & Shop 9-10am

Born and raised right here in Dunlap and the heart of the Sequatchie Valley, Kaitlyn was more or less born with both the "Country Music" and "Radio" gene, since her father (Travis) was in radio at WEPG and later here at WSDQ. Kaitlyn grew up in the halls of the radio station and has grown to love it more with every passing year. She's been working behind the scenes and on air at the station now for several years and you can join her along with Travis weekday mornings on Swap & Shop! Not only is Kaitlyn on air each morning, but she also works behind the scenes in the office taking care of everything from sales and billing to bookkeeping, and other day-to-day operations around the radio stations. When she's not on air or in the office, she's busy with her real full-time job as a Mom of three girls! She loves all kinds of music  (not just country). Her tastes include just about anything from the 90's and 2000's and let's not get started on what a huge fan she is of the band Steppenwolf! Her first claim to radio fame was introducing "Born To Be Wild" on the air at WEPG when she was about 9-years-old. Don't let the blonde-ish hair fool ya', because she's the organized one on the morning show weekday mornings -- keeping Travis, Steven, Duke, and whoever she's hosting with on-task, on-point, and making sure the show rolls-on! Listen for Kaitlyn on Swap & Shop...Mornings from 8-10am on The River 104.9 and from 9-10am on Country Roads 93.3!

John Glenn.jpg

John Glenn -- Weeknights 7pm-Midnight

John Glenn holds down the fort weeknights from 7pm-Midnight on Country Roads 93.3. He became a country radio enthusiast long ago... He says one of his earliest memories "...was listening to Don Williams on the radio with my Grandfather, while waiting in line at a grain elevator. I remember the heat of the day, the smell of the grain dust, the hole in the truck's floorboard. I go back to that moment every time I hear a Don Williams song, maybe that's why The Gentle Giant is one of my all-time favorites. That "Eureka" moment is why I love Country radio..."  Outside of the studio, John enjoys time with his beautiful wife and two wonderful kids -- fully-immersing himself in life and squeezing the most from all of its moments!  Tune in and listen for me weeknights here on Country Roads 93.3 FM WSDQ from 7pm until Midnight!

Logan Carmichael - Engineer / Production

If it's broken...he probably broke it! Wait...no... That's not how it works! Logan Carmichael is our Chief Engineer, IT guru, troubleshooting ninja, and audio production and creative services wizard for Tennessee Valley Broadcasting's 104.9 The River WEPG and Country Roads 93.3 WSDQ.  A native of Whitwell, TN, Logan started in radio at the ripe old age of 11 and came to work at WEPG in 1996. You might also remember him from mornings on WSDQ back in 2006.  He's worked in other towns like Chattanooga, Atlanta, and just outside of Dayton, OH in Indiana. He came full-circle back to our stations several years back with engineering and production duties and has been here ever since!  Logan handles the technical operations of both stations, keeping the radio waves flowing from our towers to your radio....and music going to your web stream or smart speakers and TV!  He also handles creative services, production, and programming for the stations -- meaning he's the guy your hear on many of our commercials. You can catch Logan filling-in occasionally on Swap & Shop or other shifts, too!

Vicki Messer -- Office Manager

Things just wouldn't get done in a house without a Mom to keep everyone in line. Well....the same can be said about a radio station! Thankfully, WSDQ and WEPG has Vicki Messer to keep up with all of our, uhm, messes. (yeah, we went there!). Vicki is a Marion County native who worked for many years as an EMT/Paramedic both here and in Chattanooga. She's the one you want around to revive you should you need CPR -- yes, she's certified and a trainer! She also has many years of office management and bookkeeping experience, so we've enlisted her help around here as our Office Manager to see that bills are paid, accounting is done, and things are handled professionally and in a timely manner! Vicki is always ready to help Country Roads 93.3's customers and advertisers and she loves country music! While you don't hear her on the radio a lot -- don't let that fool ya! She worked some around our sister station, WEPG, running ballgames and other programs alongside her brother (now owner and morning host) Travis Hickman back in the 80s. Vicki also handles news coverage for Country Roads 93.3 and 104.9 The River from time-to-time and is one of the station's social media divas!
